Sensual Summer Words

Sensual Summer Words Writing Retreat

Writing Retreat Table after workshop

Please note: This retreat is over. The early birds snapped up ALL the spots. You can get on the early bird list for next season’s retreats right here.

It’s been a long winter. When our bodies slow down, our creative lives often follow suit, and so does our willingness to stop, breathe and listen at the door of our hearts. This is a retreat for people who want to do just that. We’ll write wildly and playfully, using prompts and activities that reconnect us to our emotional lives and longings, our dreams and desires, ourselves.

Here’s how it works:

We will gather on a Friday afternoon in side-by-side cottages on Georgian Bay. What follows will be a luxurious weekend of creative output and self-reflection. Our time will be a mix of workshops, group meals, free time, with one long Saturday afternoon silent writing period. Our focus will be ourselves — who are we, as we step into the summer ahead? What are we craving? What are we ready to let go of? Come to breathe, nap, swim, walk the country roads, listen to the waves lap, make friends and write your heart out.

We’ll have two facilitators at this retreat—Chris and Danette—to make sure everyone gets lots of personal attention.

What people are saying:

What an absolute privilege to be at this retreat. I am in awe of your seemingly-innate ability to create a calm space and to magically orchestrate so many souls in one community and one experience. You have created a masterpiece. My deepest thanks.

Chris, thank you again, for your warmth, humour and facilitation skills, for the strawberry scones, and for so many perfect moments of early morning silence and evening laughter, spilling out of the cottage and over the water.

At the summer Firefly writing retreat I could just free-fall into my writing voice. Somehow Chris created a magical, wondrous, playful, beautiful space. I wrote 12,000 words that weekend. I was not scared, judged, or hungry… She took such good care of every possible need. Chris — thanks for sharing your gift with the world. What you do is nothing short of miraculous.
