Where are the classes held?
Classes are either held a Firefly Headquarters, which is a short walk from Pape and Danforth, or in The Junction. The workshop description should make it clear which you’re signing up for, assk if you have any questions! You’ll get the address and directions when your registration is confirmed.
How do I sign up?
Just fill out the intake form here. If you’re new to Firefly, we’ll follow up with a phone call. If this is old hat for you, you can go strait to the deposit. The form will route you to the right option.
How much is the deposit?
When you register for these classes, you will be asked for a $150 deposit. You can choose whether to pay the rest as a lump sum one week before the class or—if you sign up early enough—to pay the rest in four automatic credit card payments. Whichever you choose, if you change your mind about the class up until 24 hours after the first session, all your fees will be refunded except for the $150 deposit.
How do I pay?
The easiest way to pay is with your credit card through our PayPal system, which you will be routed to after filling out an intake form. You don’t need a PayPal account, just a card is enough.
How many people are in the classes?
This depends on the class, but it’s never less than six or more than twelve.
Are the classes a “safe space” for LGBTT voices, people of colour and others?
Oh yes. We do everything we can to make sure that our classes celebrate and welcome all voices. If you have specific concerns, or you encounter anything that makes you uncomfortable, we’d love to talk it over and adjust as needed.
What if I sign up and then I don’t like it?
We want to make sure it’s the right place for you so we’ll refund all but your deposit if you drop out within a day of the first class. A full list of our financial policies is here.
Do you ever run daytime classes?
Sometimes we do, though most of our in-house classes run in the evening since that’s when we have the most demand.
Do you have any allergens in the workshop space?
Since we work from multiple spaces, please check with us before signing up if you have concerns. For the most part, our spaces are pet-free, but there are some occasional exceptions.
